The Last Simulation of 2020: Grand Finals Edition

Here come my last predictions of the season! You can find out more about my methodology here; that’s a long read, but this will be comparatively short.

Unsurprisingly, San Francisco comes out on top nearly half the time. That’s due to the Shock having the best SAMP among the final four teams and squaring off against the lowest-ranked team in the first round, Seoul. That gives San Fran about an 87% chance of winning in round one, as compared to Shanghai, which has just a slight edge (52% to 48%) over Philadelphia.

For the sake of completeness, San Francisco also has a 55% edge over Philadelphia and 53% over Shanghai. The Dragons have 86% odds to beat Seoul, while Philadelphia would win 85% of the time.

Now watch Seoul sweep everything and prove us all wrong.

In any case, enjoy yourself this weekend!
